Americana Chart In Review - March 30th

Each week, the 75+ chart reporting Americana Music Association radio stations submit their playlist for the previous week. This chart, which is available on the AmericanaRadio.org website, is a compass if you will of Americana. For the past 3 weeks, Buddy & Julie Miller, have held onto the #1 slot with their new release "Written In Chalk". In addition, there were a number of new adds this week which can be a measure to highly anticipated new releases coming out.

Buddy Miller Recovering

Buddy Miller was admitted to John Hopkins hospital last Friday in Baltimore with complaints of chest pain following a show with Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin and Patty Griffin. They found some signs of a heart blockage which led to triple bypass surgery. Per Buddy's website he is recooping in the hospital and hopes to be released soon. All of us in the Americana community wish Buddy a speedy recovery. Buddy is the cornerstone of this thing we call Americana! Message from Buddy's website:
Following his show in Baltimore last Thursday evening, Buddy Miller was not feeling well. After consulting doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital, tests revealed some heart blockage. It was determined that surgery was needed right away. He is now resting and recovering and expected to be released from hospital shortly. Buddy and his family would like to thank all for their well wishes and prayers.
