Our 4th Annual Showcase Line-up

For the past three years, I have hosted a showcase during the big music conference/festival known as South By Southwest (SXSW). This show has become bigger than I ever imagined especially after teaming up with the Texas Music site Galleywinter.com last year. We are pleased to announce our 4th Annual AmericanaRoots.com/Galleywinter.com showcase this year on Friday, March 20th. As always, this show is free and requires no wristbands. Our line-up is jam packed with the perfect mixture of Americana and Texas music which is exactly the intent of putting on this show. Without further delay, here is our amazing line-up for this year's show. We invite you all to come out and sample some great Texas/Americana music. Most of these bands rarely even play Texas so it's a real treat for me personally to have them play! 6PM Two Tons of Steel 7PM Jason Eady / The Doc Marshalls (Nick Beaudoing) 8PM Wrinkle Neck Mules 9PM Scott Miller 10PM Modern Day Drifters 11PM Josh Grider Trio
RSVP on Facebook if you plan to come out! These shows would never have been possible without the great help of Waterloo Ice House, Laura Magoon and Angela Lampton. Angela recommended that I put together our first showcase four years ago and the rest is history. Laura is the general manager of Waterloo and does a fantastic job of taking care of the bands and I during our jam packed show. In addition, these shows would be nothing without all of these great musicians.

Americana To Go -- The iPhone Connection

Tonight, we rolled out a brand new feature which we like to call Americana To Go. We have pushed in a new system for all those iPhone users out there so that you can view AmericanaRoots.com quickly and easily on your iPhone. All you have to do is visit http://www.americanaroots.com on your iPhone to try it out (make sure you bookmark it). I have already found this new feature very useful over the last few weeks so I put together a list of the Top 5 places where it makes sense to whip out your iPhone and view AmericanaRoots.com:
  • Waiting on your consistently delayed flights
  • On a first date, when things aren't going well
  • Standing in line to pull your money out of your bank, which we as Americans now own
  • In meetings at work, while everyone thinks your checking e-mail
  • At your local music shop, looking for the latest reviews on AR
  • Ignore the last one, there are no more music shops.
