From the Pony Boy Website:
Exploring themes of the Ol’ West and heartache, Pony Boy’s gravel-riddled tunes recall a 1950's nostalgia and Southern Gothic Soul.

I developed a bit of a routine for reviewing albums now. On the day's I'm in the office I pick an album from the several I've gotten recently (these I glean by giving each one a quick 30 second or so listen, it's got to grab me) and I'll play it over and over. It normally doesn't take long to figure out what songs I like and which ones I'll be skipping upon the next listen. With Pony Boy's self titled EP Pony Boy there wasn't any skipping of songs. From track 1 Saints and Lairs to track 5 The Murder Ballad of Carrie Lee  each song was a beautifully crafted lyrically haunting treasure. A wonderful soundtrack for these late fall days and nights. I hope to here more from Pony Boy soon! Get this CD, I promise you'll wear it out.
